“Tui Na” literally means “push and grasp” aims to establish a more harmonious flow of Qi through massage and hand manipulation techniques applied on various pressure points on the body to heal itself naturally.
Tui Na is a complete healing technique apprach, similar to acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine. The techniques of Tui Na and details of its uses in treating a range of health problems are documented in a vast treatise, including the Yellow Emperor’s Classics of Internal Medicine, written about 2500 years ago.
After such a lengthy period of development and evolution, today, the modern Tui Na is the most tried and tested hands-on therapy in the entire world.
Broadly speaking, TCM Tui Na can be divided into those for treating conditions (therapy) and those for relaxation (massage). In our centre, we are focused on the former, in other words, therapeutic TCM Tui Na.
What does Therapeutic TCM Tuina treats?
Therapeutic TCM Tui Na treats chronic pain, especially that caused by muscle-skeletal conditions and injuries. Neck pain, and back pain and immobility, sciatica and ‘tennis elbow‘ all respond very well.
It is, however, impossible to treat a specific condition with just Tui Na alone, without improving the overall Qi status of the body. This means that headaches, migraines, IBS, constipation, PMS and a whole range of emotional problems can also be treated.
How is tui na singapore done?
Therapeutic TCM Tui Na is usually with patients placed resting on a treatment bed. Usually, we will have perform a clinical interview first to understand your symptoms and condition, so it will be good to be prepared to answer some questions about your state of health before having a Tui Na treatment.
We may also pair this verbal assessment with a physical or clinical assessment, to confirm our diagnoses and causes of the conditions that you have.
Also, depending on individuals to individuals and their conditions, this therapy is usually done in combination with other TCM techniques such as acupuncture, cupping etc. Hence the duration of Therapeutic TCM Tui Na alone will not stretch over 30 minutes to prevent over stimulation of the area of condition and to allow time for other therapies to be administered.
