Sharon is an experienced sports therapist with a degree in Exercise and Sports Science. She does strength and conditioning/functional training to aid patients/individuals returning to sport after injury or to improve their performance.

Sports therapy is an aspect of healthcare specifically concerned with the prevention of injury and rehabilitation of the individual back to optimal levels of functional, occupational and sports specific fitness. As a sports therapist Sharon not only renders rehabilitation and prevention therapies to sports and exercise participants, she also works with office workers and people with deskbound jobs etc. She treats the following (but not limited to):

Techniques Sharon uses to treat her patients vary from manual therapy to strength and conditioning to posture correction.

Sports massage is a form of manual therapy. Although the term is often interchanged with deep tissue massage, a more accurate description of sports massage would be a massage system built upon a firm foundation of basic massage techniques enhanced with a set of advanced techniques.

As a sports massage therapist Sharon uses an anatomy-based form of manual therapy that employs various deep tissue massage techniques. The aim is to release trigger points (knots) to relieve delayed-onset muscle soreness (DOMS), reduce muscle tightness, prevent injuries eventually enhance recovery and improve performance. Sports massage is not only for athletes, it also relieves severe tension in the muscle and the connective tissue and is recommended for individuals who experience consistent pain or aching.

As an avid triathlete, Sharon has participated in local and overseas races such as Bintan triathlon and Port Dickson international triathlon. Sharon’s area of interest is in clinical exercise rehabilitation, and she enjoys helping patients achieve their potential.
