Dorcas, originally from the UK, graduated from The University of Southampton with an Honors Degree. She moved to Singapore after graduation in 2010 and took up a role as a Podiatrist at Tan Tock Tock Seng Hospital. While at Tan Tock Seng Hospital Dorcas quickly rose to the position of Head of the Podiatry Department and while she very much enjoyed her time there she decided to leave in 2016 to focus on the musculoskeletal aspects of clinical podiatry.
Dorcas is well practiced in the management of musculoskeletal conditions of the foot and ankle. Reducing pain and restoring function is always her goal when working with patients and more recently she has made this her main area of focus. Dorcas has worked with many of Singapore’s most prominent Orthopedic and Sports Physicians. Dorcas is committed to the management of lower extremity sports and fitness injuries for all whether they are young, old or elite athletes.
Dorcas begun her career working with patients routine podiatry problems such as corns, callosities and ingrown toenails. Many of her patients were diabetics and she became dedicated to the prevention and treatment of diabetic foot-related conditions. After some time Dorcas moved on to more complex cases and worked treating foot wounds. Liaising frequently with vascular and Orthopedic Doctors She developed a keen interest in lower limb-salvage and amputation prevention.
Dorcas also worked with inpatients at Tan Tock Seng Hospital in their extensive wards. She worked closely with Orthopedic and General Surgeons treating patients after foot and ankle surgery. Podiatry input can be a key element in the rehabilitation of patients that have undergone foot and ankle surgery. Dorcas still works with patients that have had foot and ankle surgery, providing aids that support foot posture and helping them through the rehabilitation process.
She is friendly and approachable and takes pride in building relationships with her patients. Dorcas is a regular runner, joins in with bootcamps around Singapore and enjoys yoga. She is also is a keen diver. Dorcas is a member of the Podiatry Association Singapore.
